Here are some pictures and e-mails from some of my friends, and the replies to the e-mails .... A very nice group of friends.

FRAULEIN DAZEE

Hi Muffin,
Thank you for the treats.
Woof, woof
Fraulein Dazee

Dear Dazee,
When my daddy buys me treats, there is always too much for me, as I only weigh 7 1/2 pounds. Rather than have those treats go stale, I thought that I would give some of my wealth to my neighbor, Fraulein Dazee. Enjoy, thank you, you're welcome.

I am so busy doing shows that I have not had a chance to get back to you before now. Plus, I am writing a book. If you are having any kind of problems with your owner or just about any subject, and you have questions, please write me at my e-mail address: dearmuffin@juno.com. My business cards are also being printed as we speak. I shall make sure that you get one from me.

Daizee, if you would like to send me a picture of yourself, and tell me something about yourself, I would like to include you on my mailing list of friends.
I hope you are having a nice day.
Remember, Muffin Loves You.

Hi Muffin
This I Dazee saying "HI" and to let you know that I now have my own E-Mail address so that I don’t have to bother my Mommy's. I enclose a picture of myself better one will follow. Until next time, take care..
A bunch of Woof, woof Fraulein Dazee

Dear Dazee:
Nice to hear from you. Your own e-mail too!!!! Isn't this fun? I get on my daddy's desk and sometimes I run across the keys. I type alright, but daddy says I don't spell worth a darn. So he has to straighten things out.

Thank you for the picture. You look great! When I finish my first book, I have plans for me and my friends in another book. I am a little confused -- Is it Daisy or Dazee?

Friday is my birthday. I'll be 4 years old on June 7th (2002).

If you have any questions, please ask; and I'll give my best advice.
Woof, Woofs to you.

Hello Muffin,
These recipes my mommy found on the net. She hasn't made any of them yet, probably too lazy or busy, who knows, woof, woof. Perhaps your daddy will make some for you. In any case I hope you will get a chance to try some of these.
Fraulein Dazee

Dear Fraulein Dazee
Hello, to you too.
thanks for the recipes. My daddy says he's going to make one and let me try it. If I like it, I'll send some to you. If it's really good, maybe your mommy will try some. My daddy always says he won't feed me anything he won't test himself. I'd sure like to see that! Some of the food he gives me is gross. I'd rather eat what he eats.

FIKOKITTY

Dear Muffin
I am such a sexy cat that many of the cats in my area make unwanted advances and I have to chase them away. What is a girl supposed to do?
Fikokitty

Dear Fikokitty,
Seems to me the problem may be in the way you carry yourself. You may be giving the boys the wrong impression.

If you are strutting about with your tail straight up in the air, this is not what a ladylike pussy would do. If you are sincere in your statement of these very unwanted advanced, keep your head up and your tail down.

KISSES

Dear muffin,
My name is Kisses and I am a little cat who is having problems with my buddy cat named Binions. We love each other very much but at times it seems we fight, and mess up things in the house.... what is your love advice!!!
Muffin, i wanted to tell you that you are a fancy Pomeranian, and that I hear you are very famous! I’ve never met you but your dad Bobby showed me a picture. You even have large pictures of yourself! now that’s glamour.....................

Love,
Kisses
the Kitten that is always making a mess in yarn.

Dear Kisses,
You know, kitties need to play and fight to gain experience as adult kitties. It's very fortunate you have Binions to love you. You can both learn these skills together.
I know it's very hard not to be aware of things around you when you are involved with one of your playmates. You never know when you will need these skills. They can be required at any moment! Your Mom will just have to understand that's what kitties do.
Thank you for your compliments. If you have a picture of yourself and Binions, I would like to have one. I am building a book of my friends; and I would like to include you guys.
As far as making a mess in the yarn, you tell your mama she will just have to hide it from you or you will get it again — you and Binions!

JOEY ROGERS

Dear Muffin,
Just wanted to let you know it was a pleasure meeting you earlier this evening. Sounds like you have quite a career going. Hope to see you around the neighborhood again soon.
Joey Rogers

Dear Joey,
Hey, you handsome guy! Just want you to know the pleasure is all mine.

If you get a chance, and your mommy has a picture, please send one along with some information -- weight, height, etc. How old are you? What do you like the most and any silly habits you have.

If you have any questions, please ask; and I'll give my best advice.

Woof, Woofs to you.
Muffin Loves You

Dear Muffin,
I think my mom has a nice picture of me on disc at work. She says she'll try to find it and e-mail it to you. As far as my important stats go, I'm about three years old now...altho it's hard to be sure. I had two previoius owners and "mom" got me from the SPCA at an adopt-a-thon. I'm part miniature pinscher and part mystery dog. I'm probably named Joey because I jump straight up about three feet in the air all the time. (It's an attention-getting device...and it works!) True, I dig thru the kitchen garbage all the time...a habit my mom loathes...but I'm a real "cuddler" and that saves me. Besides, I'm cute.

I have a step brother named Barney. He's an 11-year-old black lab. He's a retired therapy dog and spends most of his day just laying around. He's so mellow, and can't understand why I'm so hyper. But, as they say, opposites attract and we get along great. I'll drive mom nuts for you (and believe me, I can do it!) until she sends my picture to you. In the meantime, take care and thanks for writing.
Joey Rogers

Dear Joey Rodgers:
I look forward to that picture of you. I am building an album of my friends.

WOW! You’re adopted! Your mama must be really special. I’ve been very lucky. My daddy has been with me since I was 8 weeks old. He had me shipped in from Texas. What a scary experience! You just suddenly loose all your blood relatives and are alone. Boy, am I thankful for my daddy!

You jump in the air for attention. Joey is a good name. I bark and spin in circles. Daddy says I am good. I never chew anything or get in the trash; but sometimes I get Kleenex or a paper towel. You would be surprised how many pieces I can get out of one Kleenex.

Tell Barney I know about therapy dogs. There are days that I think I cannot handle just one more lap visit at the care centers. Even though it’s tiring, I want to go more than anything. So, I guess it’s worth it. The house is boring – no rides in the car, no out and about – B O R R R I N G!

Thanks for writing. See you around the neighborhood. If you like, I’ll send you my picture.

Woof, woofs,

SASHA

Dear Muffin,
Hi, my name is Sasha. We met once briefly quite some time ago. I'm an African Grey (Congo) Parrot. I'm 12 years old, light grey with a beautiful red tail and weight about 6 ounces. I'm actually very young, not quite a teenager yet. My mommy tells me that I may live to be 65 - 70 years old!

6 ounces of tightly packed dynamite! I live with Bonzai and Sher. Bonzai is a woof woof and Sher is a meow meow. I can immitate both of them to perfection. Sometimes my mommy let's me out of my house and Iget to walk around and climb up on the couch and sit with her.

When Bonzai has one of her leather chewies. I love to tease her and make her think I'm going to try to take it away from her. She'll get up and run to another corner of the room. Then I head over that way, and she grabs it again and takes off for another corner. When I tire of that little game, I stroll down the hallway, by Sher. Sher always moves way back up against the wall when I come by. (Boy, do I have them fooled -- they think I'm really a tough guy!).

I like to talk a lot and now have a vocabulary of 100 to 150 words, many sound effects, like car alarms, whistles, computer game sounds and such as that. I'm now learning to whistle a song...Jadda, Jadda, Jadda,Jadda, Zing, Zing, Zing. I almost have it down. Just need to learn the last couple of whistles and I'll have it.

Well, that's about enough for an introduction. Do let me know about your life and career, and if you know of any ways to sneak up on the cat and surprise her, do let me know. That would be such fun!

Until next time,
Sasha

Dear Sasha
What a smart bird you must be and very playful, too! You may want to reconsider sneaking up on the cat -- they have very sharp teeth, I'm told. Maybe you could spend some time talking with her. I think once you are better acquainted, you might find she's very nice and someone to talk with when your mama isn't at home.

Hi Harley,
Sounds like you really like your mama. Thank you for the compliments...and I'm waiting for a picture of you, too. When your mom says "like velcro" I think that means that you're constantly stuck to her.
Looking forward to your picture!
Muffin Loves You

Heeey Hey good lookin,
I sending u my snapshot..hehe. Wow u are a big star..woof...pant. Nice to know u have friends in big places. My momma has taught me to talk but not sing. Hi Harley,
Thank you for the picture and you are a handsome guy! I'm going to California soon to visit my Grandma. Daddy said we'd have to spend a lot of time in the car, and that's okay wtih me. I love riding in the car, especially with Daddy as he lets me sit on his lap and look out the window. It's great seeing all these new places.
Muffin Loves You

Hi Muffin,
I haven't taken any long trips with momma yet. The fartherest we go is to Pet Smart or to the grocery store. I know when she is leaving...see i watch what shoes momma has on her feet, when i see her change shoes i know fer sure she is going somewhere and and jump and pounce untill she picks me up. I like to ride right near her shoulder when she is driving...sometimes the dips in the road get my tummy. We dogs are sooo smart aren't we? I hope to see the Ocean someday. Momma is " in her late age" shhhh don't tell her I said that, going to school to be a nurse. So maybe when she gets the big job we can go somewhere. Send me a picture if u don't mind please.

Yours Truly,
Harley Jack Davidson

ANGEL

Dear Muffin,
My name is Angel and we met at the park last weekend. Knowing that you speak from the heart, I have a heartful question which has been on my mind. I am torn between two households, at one I am crowded by 3 cats and at the other I am ruler of the house because the hamsters and fish stay in their place and I am asked to watch over them. I wish I could have even time between the two households and only get to spend weekends at the latter. How do I make everyone happy at both households? I know I am missed when absent from either place.

Here is a baby picture ...
Please let me know what you think.

Very truly yours,
Angel

Hi Angel,
It was very nice meeting you this weekend and thank you for the picture. Making everyone happy is a hard job, but if you think of them all (even the cats) as friends and family, it will be much easier. It's also very nice that you have two "families". If you look around, you'll find many who have no family. Sometimes, a small change of the way you look at things can have a huge difference in your happiness.

BONZAI

Hi Muffin,
My name is Bonzai and my mommy (who is very young indeed -- just turned 13) said you answer questions for other non-humans.

First, I guess I should tell you a little about myself. I'm very spry for my age (I'm 11 in dog years -- 77 in human years). I'm a cross between a terrier and a Chihuahua, so I've always had a problem with what to do with my hair. Recently, I've been keeping it cut short and really like the way it looks now. I'm a natural blonde (and no blonde jokes, pleeeeeasssssse!).

My question or problem is this: I am really active and like to run around and play a lot. I also love going for rides in the car and walks in the park. My mistress is now a teenager and she doesn't take me places as much as I'd like to go. Do you have any suggestions for how I can convince her to take me more places?

Thank you and do write and let me know how things are with you and what you're doing these days.

Thank you,
Bonzai

Dear Bonzai,
My, my, you are aging very well! Among my friends, I've found being blonde is an asset when you age (the grey hairs hardly show at all).
Being a teenager is very troublesome for humans, I've found. They go through stages and such. Keep letting her know you love her and spend as much time as you can with her. I'm sure she'll come around soon.

SHEHERAZADE

Hello, Muffin,

My Mother has spoken of you and said you'd like to hear from cats as well as other non-human creatures.

By way of introduction, my name is Sheherazade. My family calls me Sher for short, but personally, I find that rather undignified. I'm a long-haired Burmese, and from the description I have of you and from looking at your picture, I believe we're about the same coloring. I'm 5 years old and very beautiful!

This is my second family. My first family was not so kind or understanding. They had my front claws removed and left me to my own devices, out of the street for quite some time. I like my new family much better! (And they have been much, much easier to train!)

When I want tuna or chicken (my two very favorite dishes), I go over and rub against their legs and if they do not pay immediate attention to me, I go sit by my dish and look very sad and hungry. That almost always works.

Muffin, I understand that you are an Answer Person for those of us with questions. I do have a question for you. I really love sunbathing on the patio. My family, however, insists that I stay inside. Can you help me understand why they will not let me go outside?

Hoping to hear from you soon. Oh, and I am having a sitting for pictures this week, so I will be happy to send one to you.

Your Burmese Friend,
Sheherazade

Dear Sheherazade,
You are elegant! And, I'm so happy for you that you've found a family that loves you. The reason they won't let you go sit on the patio in the sun is that it's so dangerous outside - especially for a beautiful lady like you. Be pleased that you have a loving family and I'm sure you can find a sunny window or place on the carpet to sunbathe.

BOOMER

Hello Muffin,
I was very happy with the treats! that as very nice of you.
Boomer

Dear Boomer:
Thanks for the picture. What a handsome guy!

You know I’ve never been around other dogs much. The first time I met you, you scared me. When you jumped me (it all happened so fast), I slipped my collar and headed for home. My daddy explained to me what you were trying to do. I know now what you wanted and that you really didn’t mean to frighten me and wouldn’t hurt me intentionally.

Dad has since explained the facts of life to me. Please understand that I am still a virgin, and I’m a very small critter. I still respect you.

Glad you enjoyed the treats. See you in the neighborhood.

Woof, woofs,
